1. The church in Sardis needed again to identify where to find God’s message; it needed the messenger, the channel to bring the word of God so that Christ could head up the church and govern it.
2. God does not want to confuse His people with diverse leadings, so He only notified John. He was used as a channel for God’s message, for the revelation of Jesus Christ, and he faithfully transmitted it to that group of servants and messengers, who would faithfully transmit God’s message to the churches.
3. There is not just one messenger, but several. Moreover, no one has the right to speak their own message; we are transmitters of God’s message. We are channels to transmit what God speaks. Do not filter, do not take anything away, and do not add anything. It is God’s message.
4. Those who received the prophetic word through Paul testified that it brought the manifestation of the truth and that there was no adulteration in it. Through the word, the reality of God was introduced into the church, that is, Christ exercised preeminence over His Body. The adulterated word cannot do this nor can it produce anything.
