DAILY IMMERSION Saturday | M08. Letter to the church in Sardis

1. The works of the church in Sardis were not complete; it was just the beginning, the gateway to being freed from all lies. However, they did not continue. They did not seek light from the Word about the place of Christ as Head of the church, how to practice the government of the Spirit, how to practice the unity of the church in each city, and about the leadership through the apostles.

2. The Lord reminds the church in Sardis that it has been given an open Bible and should keep what is written therein. It was so anxious to break free from Rome that it did not turn to the pure Word of God about church practice.

3. If the church does not watch, the Lord will come as a thief. It is regrettable the condition in which this church finds itself, unconcerned with respect to the coming of the Lord. By the prophetic word, we know that the dawn has already begun, and the church in Philadelphia is already preparing itself for the coming of the Lord.

4. “Each one has his function, and each one is important in the work of edification, the work of coalescing this fabric of love. As we help each other in getting ourselves immersed in the word, in preaching the gospel, and in church services, the fabric of love between us is compacted, the threads are tightly knit, and thus we are woven together in love.”
