DAILY IMMERSION Thursday | Mess. 10: Sardis: The Treasure Hidden in a Field

1. Some enjoy and value the Word, and thus are transformed by it. Others criticize because they do not understand anything. The whole problem is in the heart. When the heart is hardened, the Word is not taken advantage of. If you have a right heart, you will see with your eyes, hear with your ears, believe with your heart, and will be healed. Let us remove our critical heart and be simple to receive the word of the kingdom.

2. “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.” In the context of Sardis, this field can be interpreted as the Bible which is open, and available. Jesus Christ is the true treasure. It is no use having the Bible and not having the treasure.

3. Christ appears to us through the revelation of the Word. Do not make the Bible just a rule of conduct in your life. We must find the treasure of the Bible. It is no use having the Bible if you do not find Christ. To have revelation one must have a proper heart and go to the revealed word.

4. “Let us stay very close to the voice of the Lord. Problems and doubts regarding the word arise because of our distance from it. Let us follow the word closely. (…) Let us stop what we are doing to diligently listen to the word, without competition from other activities. Those who closely follow the Lord diligently listen to His voice whenever He speaks. This kind of person is close to the Lord and knows His heart”
