1. Our Lord Jesus was charged by God with the building of the church. On the one hand, He was enthroned and is seated in heaven, at the right hand of God, above all authority, power and dominion. On the other hand, He still has an unfinished mission: to complete the edification of the Body of Christ, the church. He loves the house of God and is determined to fulfill His responsibility. Therefore, He is with us every day, cooperating and confirming His word; when we preach the gospel so that people are introduced into His Body and built up with us.
2. Zeal for the house of God consumed Jesus. The temple, the physical house of God, was contaminated by business. In the history of the church we have seen man always concerned with climbing positions, fighting for power, with ambition to acquire status, privileges, gain popularity and glory for himself. The church is the Body of Christ and must be headed by Christ, but men have taken over the house of God in a religious way and made it a structure for their own benefit.
3. God wants to cleanse the church, so that it is pure and fights only for the edification of the Body of Christ and not for its own interests. From the vision of the church that we have gained, we need to have a reality of the Body. By inculcating the Word into our hearts, we will be filled with the reality, which is Christ. Allowing the Word to permeate every part of our soul: our mind, emotion and will with the reality of God, Christ will be the Head of the church. This is our fight.
4. “Our hearts are the centerpiece in God’s plan. We need to keep it pure so that Satan does not conquer us through the door of the heart. The church in the Pergamos period did not guard its heart, and Satan entered and installed himself within the church, causing a terribly negative mix (…) However, God has always counted, in all ages, on a group that remained in the silver line of His grace, being faithful to Him.” (Whoever has ears, let him hear!
