1. Jesus wanted to show the Jews that He was the sent One, and they wanted proof. They said that God had given a sign for the people to believe in Moses. They wanted that same sign, not spiritual bread, but bread for physical food. It was as if they were saying: “if you, Jesus, fill our pantry with bread daily, we will believe in you”. However, the true bread of God is what comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.
2. The Lord needs to take us to another sphere, only there we will see that the true bread from heaven is what gives us life. God’s perfect gift to man is not the bread that perishes, but the bread that comes down from heaven, from the sphere where God is, the dimension where He lives, eternity.
3. The bread from heaven feeds us and gives us eternal life. We were generated in the dimension where God is. After the new birth, we have the nature of the God dimension. We were generated by the Word of truth, which is in eternity.
4. If we really love the Lord, we will not be thrown away, God will take care of us. Jesus, the sent One, did not do His own will, but the will of the Father: the resurrection on the last day of those given to Him. The resurrection of the last day is the resurrection of life. The resurrection is to eternal life. This makes us happy! Jesus is the bread that came down from heaven to give us eternal life.
