1. It is very important that we receive the Word as Christ Himself, not just as information or doctrines that come from God. We need to understand that God is wanting to transmit, through Christ, Himself to us (John 1:1, 10-11).
2. The Jews did not receive Jesus because they were already shaped by the Jewish religion and accommodated in the formed power structure. The religious structure makes it difficult for us to understand what God wants to do (John 1:19-24).
3. Religion cannot give man full satisfaction. It makes us have a feeling that God is pleased with what we do. But the joy and motivation generated by this sensation soon end (John 2:1-12).
4. All the heavenly blessings, that is, the good gift and the perfect gift that were in the Father, have been given to us in Christ (Daily Food, Book 3, week 1, Wednesday, p. 12).
