1. Christ is the objective faith in which we believe. When we believe in Jesus, we receive faith subjectively within us. We all obtain equally precious faith. From that time on, we live by faith in the Son of God. (2 Pet. 1:1; Gal. 2:20).
2. Through believing, God has projected subjective faith into our hearts, both in you and in me. This subjective faith is of like value to all who have believed in Jesus. In this faith, we have everything that leads to life and godliness. Therefore, we need to labor in the word (2 Pet. 1:3).
3. This word must be worked more and more into our hearts, to produce more life, virtue, godliness, with more energy of life in us. In this way, we will not only be Christians in name, but we will have the reality of God’s nature within us (2 Pet 1:4).
4. “The word of life is a person, Christ, who is life itself. John spoke about a living person, Christ, so His words promoted the circulation of life among the members of the Body. The circulation of life brings us God Himself, who is light” (1 John 1:1-3) (Daily Food, Book 1, Week 4, Monday, pp. 58-59).
