DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Friday | Mess. 08 – The Return to the Church of the Apostolic Age

  1. In the 18th century, the evangelical group known as the “The Brethren” saw that hierarchy in the church was unbiblical, and its members began to call themselves simply brothers (Mt 23:8). Despite the revival, there was no search for the revelation and headship of Christ in the church, and they ended up be divided into several groups over doctrinal matters (1 Cor 12:24b-25).
  2. In the early 19th century, God worked in the church upon revealing to them the principles of the oneness of the Body of Christ and infusing the spiritual perception of the church as a living organism. Furthermore, there was an awakening of the mission work in various countries and of the love for the Lord’s return. These conditions are present in the church in Philadelphia and gave birth to the “The United Brethren” movement (Rev 3:11).
  3. Around about the middle of the 19th century, the Spirit of God awakened some in the British Isles to devote themselves to seeking revelation in the Scriptures. Brothers in Ireland gave rise to “prophetic meetings,” and the light of the Word of God led them to bear witness to the oneness and heavenly nature of the church. They were slowly returning to the direction of the church in Philadelphia (Rev. 3:10).
  4. We must believe in the power that is in the word of the Lord, even if to us something seems impossible (Mark 9:23). (Daily Food, Book 3, Week 2, Friday, p. 35)
