- The degradation of the church begins when love for the word of the apostles is lost. When, however, this love for the word is recovered, the Lord restores the church to the condition He always desired (3 John 9-10; Acts 2:42).
- The apostle’s word does not originate from himself, but is the revelation of Jesus Christ. It is God who gives revelation! He used Paul as a wonderful vessel and made the gospel expand (Acts 9:15-16; Gal 1:11-12; Rev 1:1).
- The influence of Greek culture caused division in the churches in the first century, by introducing into them the democratic principle that everyone can express their vision of the word of God. We must be careful not to fall into this same error and act like Miriam and Aaron, when the Lord raises up a person as His channel (1 Cor 1:11-13; Num 12:1-2, 6-7).
- When someone listens to the prophet, they need to know who the word of prophecy comes from. The important thing is that God is the source. When the prophet’s word is fulfilled, it was certainly God who carried out the work (John 5:22-24) (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 1, Friday, p. 16).
