- We need to be together with all the saints to know the dimensions of Christ and the “agape” love of God. Alone, our understanding is limited. Together with our brothers and sisters, we expand our understanding, because with them, our limitations are overcome (Eph 3:18).
- Agape love is the bond of perfection, that is, it unites all things perfectly. What builds the church, what connects us to each other for the building, is love. This love comes from God, and is sent to us by His word (1 Cor 13:8-10, 13; Col 3:14 BJC).
- For the church of brotherly love, the Lord is the Holy and True One. God wants a holy church because He is Holy. Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having purified her through the washing of water through the Word (Rev 3:7; Lev 20:7; 1 Pet 1:16; Eph 5: 25-26).
- Our Lord Jesus lives in us today. He is our advocate, our “parakletos”, the Spirit of truth, filling us with the reality of God and sending us to rescue people and make disciples so that they too will be under His command. We are here to preach the gospel of the kingdom! (John 14:17; 1 John 2:1; Mt 24:14) (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 3, Friday, p. 50).
