- Godliness adds brotherly love, which is love between the saints. This love is a love that has grown from faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness and brotherly love. True love comes from the Word of God (2 Pet 1:6-7).
- When we obey the truth, our souls are purified by the washing of water through the word, and brotherly love arises among us. This ardent love is not false, because it comes from the life of God Himself. It is not a love of the human life, but an incorruptible seed, planted in our hearts through the word (Eph 5:26; 1 Pet 1:22-23).
- “Agape” love is the love that is God Himself in its essence and substance. This love unites us, generating in us elements that will truly build His house, the church. Only the word of truth will make us reach the love of God (Col 3:14; Eph 4:15-16).
- “By ourselves we are not able to keep the word. Among the people of Israel, no one was able to keep the whole law. How can we, in the New Testament, keep the words of the Lord Jesus? By our own efforts it is impossible. Therefore, the way is through fellowship in the Word of life, the fellowship of eternal life, which is Christ Himself circulating among us” (1 John 2:3-5) (Daily Food, Book 1, Week 4, Friday, p. 67).
