- There is a battle: the Devil wants us to live according to the world’s pattern, but God wants us to live by His holy life. Which life do you want to live? The choice is yours: life or death, blessing or curse. The way to choose life is to be in the fellowship of life, receiving the word of life (1 John 2:15-17; 1 Peter 1:15-17).
- The human mind is like a key; it is the key that decides which life to live; connecting us to life or death. The mind set on the Spirit produces life and peace; however, when set on the flesh, it results in death. The practical way to make it set on the spirit is to immerse yourself in the word, sleep and wake up with God, preach the gospel in the streets and live a church life in love with the brothers and sisters (Romans 8:6).
- The word brings the reality of God, grounding me in the truth and making me holy as God is. Christ sanctifies the church through the washing of water by the word. Let us learn to value the word of life, which acts like a flowing and dynamic liquid, removing from us the nature of fallen man (John 17:15- 17; Eph 5:25-26).
- We must always remember and appreciate what Jesus endured for us on the cross. He took upon Himself all the punishment for our sins! Praise the Lord! (Daily Food, Book 6, Week 2, Saturday, p. 36).
