- The goal of our transformation is to be built into a spiritual house. In this building, Christ is the cornerstone, the starting point and the point of reference of the entire building. All the measurements of the construction come from Him. Christ is also the foundation stone, which bears all the load and weight of the edification (Eph 2:19-21).
- God wants to feel at home among us. As long as God encounters resistance and opinions that differ from His, He will not feel at home among us. God wants to build us up by causing His life to grow in us so that we can provide for the Lord this environment of being at home and for God a spiritual dwelling place (Eph 2:22).
- The house of God is also the place where there is a priesthood, that is, where everyone serves Him. When He sighs, His servants already know what to do. The tabernacle of God with men is this spiritual house. The Jerusalem Bible translation uses a proper name, “God-with-them,” to indicate this mutual dwelling. God and we will be one (Rev. 21:3).
- Now it is up to us, who are the extension of Jesus on Earth, to continue His mission of completing the work of building the house of God and of taking control of the kingdom of this world (1 Cor 3:10-17) (Daily Food, Book 6, Week 3, Saturday, p. 52).
