- The Lord finally found rest in His house because He found people who were humble in spirit. God wants the heart of man for His dwelling place. He desires to dwell among those who are poor, humble, afflicted, and downcast in spirit. The Lord seeks a heart that has reverent love for His word (Matt. 5:3; Isa. 66:1-2).
- When you choose to live by God’s life, you will reap blessings and happiness. However, when you make this choice, you must be careful about what you say. And the best way to bridle your tongue is to be immersed in God’s Word all day long (Deuteronomy 11:26-32; 1 Peter 3:10-11).
- If you speak too much, one day you will stumble over your own words. But by filling your speaking with the word of God: immersing yourself, transcribing, sleeping and waking up with God, all day long involved with the word, there will be no curse in your speaking. By inculcating the word of the Lord, the mouth will speak from what fills the heart (James 3:2-12; Matthew 12:34).
- Immersing ourselves in the prophetic word is a practical way to fill all the empty spaces in our mind, emotions and will. Furthermore, the practice of immersion makes it possible to keep the flame of our first love alive, because it makes us reverently love the word of God and causes the word to be inculcated in our hearts (He who has an ear, let him hear. Lessons from Sardis in Revelation, The Background I, p. 39).
