- Philadelphia in Greek means brotherly love, love between brothers and sisters. God is “agape” love, He is the origin, the source of love; love is His nature, His essence. God’s desire is to fill us with His life and nature through His word (Rev. 3:7-13; 1 John 4:8, 16; Eph. 1:13).
- Our God is the Only True God. Outside of Him there is no truth. Jesus Christ, whom He sent, is the Truth itself, the Life itself, and the Way for man to reach the True God (John 17:3; 14:6; 1:12).
- Christ needs to govern our lives by faith in the Word. The more we exercise faith in the Word, the more reality we will have of God’s government in our lives. And every result of God’s work is love, for love is the essence of God, the very nature of God (Eph 3:17).
- No one has ever seen God, but whoever has seen the Son has seen the Father (John 1:18). Today we can see Christ in the Spirit and thus also see the Father, because the Son is the image of the invisible God (Col 1:15) (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 3, Thursday, p. 47).
