- Let us nourish the holy life that has come into us by longing for the genuine spiritual milk of the Word, for it causes the divine life to grow and to save us. Genuine in Greek is “adolos”, which means without guile, pure, unadulterated, and unmixed. The Word must come to us clean and pure (1 Peter 2:2).
- We need to desire the Word at every moment, just as a newborn child desires the mother’s milk and is nourished by it. It is the Word that enables us to grow and fulfill His will and gives us the ability to love the Lord. Therefore, we need to immerse ourselves in the Word, even to wake up and to go to sleep with God, in order to instill it in our hearts through consecutive repetitions (Deuteronomy 6:1- 7).
- Through growth coming from the Word, we will experience how gracious the Lord really is. He has already taken us out of our old way of living, given us a new way of living, and today we are growing and being saved. Through the growth of the divine life, we become living stones for edification (1 Peter 2:3-5).
- The world is longer attractive to me, because I am crucified to it; I am a new creation and I live for the Lord. We are a new creation created by God through the death and resurrection of Christ (Gal. 6:15) (Daily Food, Book 6, Week 3, Thursday, p. 46).
