- While we fight for the kingdom of the heavens, we still live on the Earth and are subject to earthly influences. The world hates those that belong to the Lord (John 17:15). The Lord, however, will never lose any of those that have been entrusted to Him.
- The Lord prayed to the Father t that He would keep us from the evil one. To live in the world implies that it still can affect our heart and causes a struggle inside us. The lust of the flesh war against our soul and impede it from being saved through the supply of the Word (Eph 6:12).
- The heart is the focus of the battle between the Lord and the evil one because it is the ground where God sows the seed of the kingdom. The devil’s strategy is to occupy the human heart with the love for the world, corrupt it and thus render it useless in enabling the seed of the kingdom to bear fruit (Matt 13:3-9).
- “For having denied the Lord three, Peter must have thought the Lord would reject him and use someone else. The Lord Jesus knows the human being, and that is why He said, “and Peter.” It is as if He said, “Peter, I will not forget you and much less will I abandon you” (Daily Food, Volume 6, Week 4, Tuesday, page 60).
