DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Wednesday | Mess. 05 – The Emergence of the Root of the Church’s Degradation in the Second Century

In Revelation, the emphasis is not on positions but on functions; let us not become attached to our position in the church, but let us seek to fulfill the role of being faithful transmitters of the word (Rev 2:1, 8, 12, 18; 3:1, 7, 14; 2 Tim 2:2).
John’s ministry leads the church back to the importance of the word, life and edification. In his gospel, he begins with the importance of the word for carrying out God’s will. The Word makes man receive eternal life through faith in the One sent by God and produces the edification of the house of God (John 1:1-4; 5:24).
In John’s epistles, he reveals the importance of the word of life announced: it produces eternal life, which generates the fellowship of life, the fellowship between the members of the Body and the fellowship between the members, the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ (1 John 1:1-4).
“While some disciples abandoned Jesus because they found His speaking too harsh, others were simple and remained with Him, and the Lord clarified to them the meaning of those words” (John 6:60, 66). (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 3, Wednesday, p. 45).
