1. God chose His Son to be the bond (the connecting link) between the Creator and all creation, to reign over the nations (Ps. 2:6-9); to be the connecting center of God’s work. However, the archangel Lucifer, being so perfect, thought he could be that link and, for not having been chosen, rebelled and sought to establish his throne to be equal to God.
2. Lucifer formed a kingdom, the Empire of Darkness, and disconnected man from God (The Truth) in the Garden of Eden through the serpent. Humanity fell into total emptiness and lives in the kingdom of lies, the realm of darkness – this is the sad story of humanity after the rebellion (Col. 1:13; Ps. 2:2, 3; 2 Cor. 11:3; John 8:44).
3. But thanks be to God, He chose Christ as king over His Mount Zion (Ps. 2:6-7). The Son of God, begotten in the resurrection, is Christ. He was the only begotten and became the firstborn in the resurrection, was glorified, enthroned, and exalted to the right hand of the Father (Rom. 1:4; Ps. 2:7; Heb. 5:10; 8:1-2). From now on, our entire story takes place in the heavens!
