God’s work is not mere human work to be done, but is the result of the flowing of grace. Man has the concept of doing a religious work for God with the contribution of the skill of several leading brothers and leaves aside the main thing, which is the word of God.
- At every moment, God has a word to give direction to the church as to the next step to be taken. This is the prophetic word, the word that proceeds from the mouth of God. It is fully grounded in the Bible and meets God’s need for the church’s current moment. We should treasure this word (2 Pet 1:19).
- The prophetic word comes from the mouth of God and brings us the flow of the river of grace, with all that God is and has. As a result, it fills us with reality, which is Christ Himself. He wants to fill and fill and fill us to the full with the essence of God, which is love. God wants to produce this work, which is the fruit of His word.
- The work of the Lord is a fruit. Besides producing its own subsistence, the earth must produce something for heaven (Isa 42:5). Man was created with this ability and he who lives by the Spirit will produce on earth for God (Gen 2:7; John 3:6; 2 Cor 3:6).
- The word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord will cause man to produce for heaven. That word is one that is sent out for the need of each moment, in order to produce something for God at that time (Is 55:10-11). We are here to produce for God according to His prophetic word, to do the work that God wants to be done with every word that comes out of His mouth.
