1. We are one Body and everyone watches over it. In times of war, we need to be together, always before the Lord and His word, so that the church is protected. We live in a moment of urgency, just like in the time of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 4:19-23).
2. The house of God needs government. In it, there cannot be privileges for some or practices that exploit the difficult condition of a brother. We all work for the same purpose: the building up of the church! Let us have a good testimony and God will remember us (Ne 5:1-19).
3. The trick of God’s enemy is to say that His chosen one wants to exalt himself and aspires to be king. But that was not Nehemiah’s heart, nor should it be ours! (Ne 6:1-19; 5:14).
4. We must live a life of redeeming time, filling ourselves with the Spirit and seeking God’s will. But how to do this in practice? The secret is immersion in the word, speaking among ourselves with psalms, singing and praising the Lord from the heart (Ep 5:18-19) (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 4, Saturday, page 69).
