DAILY IMMERSION Thursday | Message 04 –The Reconstruction of the Temple and the Walls of Jerusalem

1. Reformed churches adopted episcopal government, when bishops make decisions, and state government, when the state rules over the church, or presbyterian government, in which decisions rest with the elders. But the only government of the church is from God and Christ is the head of the church (Rev 3:1; Eph 1:22; 5:23; Col 1:18).

2. It was necessary to restore the model established by God in the Bible. The walls of the city of Jerusalem needed to be restored and the gates needed to be reestablished in order to reestablish God’s government within the limits of the walls, because despite the construction of the temple, the city remained very vulnerable to the people around it (Neh 4: 7).

3. God needs to establish His government in the church. In His house we have command, direction and government. (Eph 1:22; Eph 5:23; Col 1:18).

4. We are blessed to see and hear the word of the kingdom. This word will bring the headship of Christ over our lives and the kingdom of God on earth. ( Daily Food, Book 2, Week 2, Thursday, p. 48 ).
