DAILY IMMERSION Tuesday | M08. Letter to the church in Sardis

  1. The church in Philadelphia has little strength. However, today, in the end time, the Lord has sent His seven Spirits, which refers to the Spirit in His completeness, His full strength, and infinite power. After these nineteen centuries of degradation, the Spirit is working with His utmost intensity to complete this age. We are privileged to witness the beginning of this moment. (Rev 3:1; 4:5)
  2. Our Lord also has in His hand the seven stars, which are the angels, His messengers, of the seven churches. God does His work in the church through His seven Spirits and the seven stars. He no longer works through able leaders full of biblical knowledge but through God’s faithful messengers. The one that does the work is God’s message, His word. We are only messengers, and the more faithful we are as messengers, the more God can hasten His work. (Rev 3:1; 2 Tim 2:2; 1 Tim 1:3-4)
  3. God governs His people through His Word. In order to have the Word that governs the church, God needs a messenger, a channel, which we don’t see in Sardis. They did not address the matter of the government of the church, so they did not have the proper vessel to receive the light of the restoration of the full revelation. (Ex 19:4; Rev 1:1)
  4. “Faith must always be related to what God says. Therefore, the word of faith which we preach produces faith in the hearts of those who hear, who, by confessing Jesus as Lord, are saved. Our faith is not abstract but rests on the Word. This is what triggers the strength of God’s power to carry out the work of building up the church. We can work in the Lord’s rest because the strength is His, not ours (2 Chr. 20:12a). Hallelujah!”. (Daily Food, Book 3, Week 4, Tuesday, p. 61).
