1. To do God’s work, we need the promise, the presence and the rest. There will be many attacks, but the presence of the Lord will make us rest while we battle (Ex 33:14).
2. Nehemiah called and the people soon set out to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. There was, finally, a voice of command, which mobilized them for this task. When the word of order comes, government begins to exist. This is the importance of the prophetic word (Ne 2:17-18).
3. God always chooses men with a pure heart, a good conscience, faith without pretense and who know that their service has a period determined by Him (Ne 2:19-20; 1 Tm 1:3-5).
4. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing, not just some of it. God does not give the Spirit by measure, He does not give partially, but rather every kind of spiritual blessing in the heavenly regions in Christ (Eph 1:3) (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 4, Tuesday, p. 59).
