1. Peter’s ministry was to cast nets to catch men. He started the church age and was used by God to open the doorway to the Kingdom of Heaven for Jew and Gentile alike. We were all baptized into the Body of Christ, within which there is no longer any distinction. We are living members of this Body, we have access to Jesus, who is our peace and makes us one.
2. Because of his Jewish views, Peter had difficulty accepting Gentiles. He was also under pressure from those in favor of circumcision in the church in Jerusalem. God had to raise up Saul, until then a persecutor of Christians, a “wild horse” to be tamed, so that the gospel could spread in the Gentile world.
3. Barnabas took Saul to meet at the church in Antioch, where they served for a year, and there the disciples were called Christians for the first time. After that, the Holy Spirit separated Barnabas and Saul for His work. The Spirit has a work, in which we must all be inserted today!
4. “It is not our ability to speak the word that will connect people with heaven, but it is Christ. Therefore, don’t use your ability to do God’s work or to try to connect people with Him; use the word of Christ.”
