1. Jesus’ answer to the question of the adulterous woman’s accusers brought light to the listeners and they realized that they too had sinned. Do not seek to convince others in the sphere of reason. We need to take people into the sphere of light (John 8:7-11).
2. Jesus is the light of the world that exposes all darkness. We cannot escape this light, but we must remain beneath it. If we abide, the Lord will lead us into the light of life (John 8:12).
3. The light of the first day separated light from darkness, but the lights of the fourth day were created to rule and give direction. This is the role of the prophetic word (Gen 1:3-5, 14-19; 2 Pet 1:19).
4. Don’t follow from afar, don’t stay away from the prophetic word. Let’s follow closely! (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 2, Wednesday, page 31).
