- The anointing is something living that God has placed within us. It is the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. This refers to the holy anointing oil and has the power and efficacy of the death and resurrection of Christ. We should not live by rules, but by the life we have received from God because we are His children. The anointing is very important, for it discerns whether or not the speaking is from God and has the purpose of uprooting us from the religious world (1 John 4:1-6; Phil. 1:19; Gal. 1:4).
- After the fall of Adam and Eve, their eyes were opened and they began to evaluate everything in terms of right and wrong. Even so, there was still a chance to “do well” and choose life, but man chose to live by external rules. Nevertheless, let us thank God! Just as it is not necessary to teach an orange tree to produce oranges or a duck to swim, God’s life is able to govern us and make us conduct ourselves as His children. That is why a person born of God is able to love. This makes all the difference (1 John 3:11; 4:7; Gen. 2:9; 4:4-6).
- There is no point in trying to love by our own ability, causing us to live a façade, because love comes from God. We need the fellowship of life experienced in the church in resurrection by practicing refined immersion and going to bed and waking up with God. In this way, we begin to love our brothers and sisters more and come to know God. The word “knows” in the verse is conjugated in the aorist verb tense in ancient Greek, which indicates the impossibility of defining the time in which one came to know, because it refers back to the moment of birth. We know God through the life we received, not because He did something for us (1 John 4:7).
- We need to keep the inner man, born of God, active and growing strong so that we can live through it. We even need God’s love to love Him. This love is a glue, an adhesive, an element that unites perfectly and produces edification. In this way, we will become a living organism in which there is no longer the individual, you and me, but one entity. When love is perfected in the church, we will live in an environment without fear and will be able, on the day of judgment, to come before God with confidence, for we will turn over to Him a living organism governed by life (1 John 4:9-21; Deut. 6:5; Col. 3:14; Eph.4:15-16).
