- To complete the vision of Revelation chapter 12, we must see the dream that Joseph had in Genesis 37. Through that dream we can say that the stars mentioned there represent the patriarchs. The moon under the woman’s feet represents God’s people in the Old Testament. The age of the Law is the age of the night before the coming of day (Gen 37:5-10).
- With the coming of Christ daytime began (Luke 1:78). The stars represent the patriarchs and the moon represents God’s people in the Old Testament, the age of the Law. The sun represents God’s New Testament people, the church. The woman represents the totality of all God’s people on Earth (Rev 12:1-2; Isa 54;5; Eph 5:23-27, 32).
- When God created the light bearers, He said that they would serve to govern. We see that God’s people on Earth serve to give light to it and are used by Him to govern it. This is the reason we preach the gospel of the kingdom. We are here to bring light to the Earth and to establish God’s government through the Word (Gen 1:14-18; Matt 5:14-16; Phil 2:15).
- “What is operating is the word of life because it is eternal life itself. This is why John begins his epistle by speaking about life (1 Jn 1:1-3). Eternal life is Christ Himself, and the word of life was announced by the apostle John. If we believe the word that comes from the mouth of the apostle, we will be connected with him to the fellowship of life, and this fellowship is also with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ” (Daily Food, Book 3, Week 2, Wednesday, pg. 29).
