1. In the Scriptures, King David represents Christ. Today, the Lord needs people who can manage the King’s affairs—a generation of mighty men who will be overseers of King Jesus’s business (1 Chr. 26:30-32).
2. God desires to produce children who will manage His household, caring for people, so that He can build the church and bring His kingdom to Earth. Therefore, let us work for the Lord! (1 Tim. 3:15; Eph. 4:11-12; Matt. 16:18; 1 Pet. 2:5).
3. Like David’s mighty men, let us be involved in the Lord’s work to carry out His will: to make Christ the Head over all things. To do this, we need to engage in this heavenly undertaking through preaching the gospel and administering God’s house, which is the church. He needs us! (Eph. 1:9-10).
4. “More than just Christians with good behavior, God wants us to walk in the same direction, united in soul and with the same feeling” (Phil. 2:2) (Daily Food, book 4, week 3, Monday, p. 39).
