1. God desired to reign in man through divine life, but Satan deceived man and began to reign through death. Conscience was unable to tame human wickedness, and after the racial mixing between women and the fallen angels, the flood came. Human government also failed. What, then, is the only perfect government? Divine government, present today in the church through His word (Romans 3:23; Genesis 6:2-4, 11-13, 20-21).
2. Government based on human conscience is limited, and human government is also flawed. The only perfect government is God’s government! This government is present in the church today and manifests itself through the word, which brings God’s presence, expresses His authority, and gives direction to His people (2 Peter 1:19).
3. Noah planted a vineyard and got drunk; his youngest son exposed the situation to his brothers. However, Noah was an authority established by God. Ham’s attitude reveals dissatisfaction and rebellion. He did not contain his feelings, allowing the matter to spread and, consequently, his descendants to be cursed. We must purify our hearts, washing them with the word (Gen. 9:20-22, 25; Eph. 5:26).
4. “When the seventy disciples went out to preach the gospel of the kingdom, Jesus saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. In the same way, when we go out to preach the gospel to people, Satan falls from heaven. Demons submit to the name of Jesus!” (Luke 10:17-20) (Daily Food, book 1, week 3, Wednesday, p. 44).
