DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Monday | Msg. 23 – God Reconfirms His Promise to Abraham After Lot’s Separation

1. God found in Abraham a person who was not concerned with fighting for his own interests and profits. Because of this heart, the God of glory appeared to him. Abraham became a Hebrew, crossing the great river Euphrates—an act that symbolized leaving the land of idols and deciding to follow the True God (Nehemiah 9:7-8; Acts 7:2).

2. If you set your mind on the spirit, you will be led to life and peace; but if you set your mind on the flesh, it will result in death. At every moment, there is a choice before you: where to place your thoughts. Let us, then, choose life; let us choose to love the word of the Lord and to have reverence for everything that proceeds from the Mouth of God (Romans 8:6; Deuteronomy 30:15-20).

3. Bethel represents the house of God, and Ai, a heap of ruins. If you choose blessing, you are choosing to build God’s house. You have chosen to live in the house of the Lord. One day in His courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. By choosing to build God’s house—the church—you will have a life of blessings and joy. Even when pressures and difficulties come, the Lord is with you (Gen. 12:8; Ps. 84:10).

4. “In our experience, the day we received Christ and believed in Him, we also received the life of God. That life was in Christ, the Word, and when we received Him by faith, we received the life of God. This life we received by believing in Jesus becomes our light. When that light shines in our lives, darkness flees” (John 1:1-5) (Daily Food, book 2, week 1, Monday, p. 5).
