DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Friday | Msg. 57 – Jacob Blesses Joseph’s Sons

1. We need to persevere and strive for the birthright, to strive to do God’s will. Let us not do things for ourselves. It is worthwhile to live in the presence of God, who sustains us throughout our lives (Genesis 48:15).

2. Abraham and Isaac walked in the presence of God. Jacob also walked in the presence of God. Our God is the great shepherd, who knows our needs and shepherds us throughout our lives. He especially shepherds those who do not forsake their birthright and seek to do God’s will (Genesis 48:15-16).

3. The tribe of Ephraim was distinguished by Joshua, who, along with Caleb from the tribe of Judah, encouraged the people to enter the land of Canaan and possess it. Joshua and Caleb did not doubt God’s word. Joshua was chosen by God to succeed Moses in order to conquer the land of Canaan and distribute it as an inheritance to the children of Israel. Let us also be strong and courageous, and we will enter the good land! (Numbers 13:6-8, 16, 30; 14:6-8; Deuteronomy 31:7-8; 14-15, 22-23).

4. “The ingenuity of Rebekah’s plan to obtain Isaac’s blessing for her son Jacob, coupled with Isaac’s lack of maturity and discernment, ultimately favored Jacob, but all this happened under the Lord’s sovereign arrangement (Hebrews 11:20; 12:16)” (Daily Food, book 9, week 4, Friday, p. 67).
