DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Wednesday | Mess. 18 – Husband and Wife: Heirs Together of the Grace of Life

  1. Peter exhorts us to have an exemplary conduct, so that we live in submission to human authorities. The same is true of marriage, which shows whether a person lives in accordance with the life he has received from God (1 Pet 2:11-12).

  1. What sets apart an exemplary Christian’s conduct among people is obedience to the truth. Otherwise, his life is like that of an unbeliever (1 Pet 1:22-23; 3:7).

  1. The submission of wives to their husbands is based on the same principle as submission to established authorities. It is up to us to submit ourselves to human institutions. It is not up to a Christian to have an attitude of rebellion in his heart and promote rebellions. At the judgment of Christ each one will answer for himself (1 Pet 3:1-6; 1 Cor 4:2-5; 2 Cor 5:10).

  1. In addition to testing our faith, the fire of tribulations removes the impurities within us. Our hearts are corrupt, and we are unrighteous by nature, so in order to keep our conscience clean, we must constantly go to the Lord so that He may cleanse everything that affects our conscience. Sufferings, in turn, lead us to the presence of God. For this reason, it is necessary that we be grieved by various trials (1 Pet. 1:6) (He who has an ear, let him hear. Sardis Lessons in Revelation, Background I, p. 18).
