- False prophets seek to introduce heresies, and with this, opposing and different opinions arise, causing confusion and division. But the Bible, the word of truth, is healthy and is our foundation; it shows us that the way forward is to follow the teachings of the apostles (2 Pet 2:1; Acts 2:42; 1 Tim 1:3-7).
- We need to be alert to false teachers who preach against the teaching of the apostles, because they only want followers for themselves and do not care about people. They only harm people and families by taking them off the right path, off the path of life, off the prophetic word, and then leaving them to fend for themselves (2 Pet 2:1-2; Acts 20:29-30).
- Nothing will go unpunished, nothing will go unpaid, for God is the Righteous Judge! If we do anything that harms someone or God, we will pay for it. God is a God of judgment and will judge the wicked, false prophets, and false teachers (2 Pet. 2:2-11; 3:17; Jude 1:15).
- Let us not trust in the integrity of our hearts, but only in the word of life, which is able to keep us healthy (Heb 4:12). Only the word of life is able to discern what is hidden in our hearts, and we need it even to know ourselves and to keep us in the fellowship of life. (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 2, Thursday, p. 32).
