- Just as Abraham and Sarah did not need to exert effort to provide the offspring that God had already promised, so we do not need to exert ourselves to do things for the Lord. We just need to walk in the presence of the Lord, and then things will happen. It will be perfect. He is The Almighty and All Sufficient God (Gen. 16:2-6, 16; 17:1-4).
- By the death of Christ, with the blood shed on the cross, Christ purchased for God those who come from every tribe, language, people and nation, and made them a kingdom and priests, and they are destined to reign on the earth. This is the mission that God originally gave to man (Rev 5:9-10; Gen 1:26-28).
- God instituted circumcision to make Abraham understand that using his own strength, his flesh, resulted in something that displeases God. The Lord does not need our help. He is The Almighty. The Lord can do whatever He wants. All He requires of us is that we walk in His presence (Gen. 17:1, 9-11; Col. 2:11-13).
- “In the process of sanctification, the prophetic word is essential. The word of truth sanctifies the church. How does it sanctify us? Through the word the Lord is cleansing us and sanctifying us. This sanctification occurs because we have God as our ruler” (John 17:17; Eph 5:25,26) (Daily Food, Book 7, Week 1, Friday, p. 15).
