DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Friday | Mess. 3 – The Reasons for Babylonian Captivity

  1. Peter had a vision of a sheet with all kinds of unclean animals descending. Let us not consider as unclean what God has sanctified. At that moment, those from the household of Cornelius, a Gentile, appeared. From that moment on, the Gentiles were welcomed into the Body of Christ. We have been brought into the Body of Christ (Acts 10:9-48; 1 Cor 12:13).

  1. The Gentiles believed in the Lord, and the church arose in Antioch. Barnabas was sent to verify that it was the church. So Paul and Barnabas dwelt in Antioch for about a year, until they were separated and sent to serve in the work. The one who sends is the Holy Spirit (Acts 11:19-26; 13:2).

  1. We are saved by grace, not by the law. However, the Judaizers added customs from Moses. They argued that, in addition to believing in Jesus, it was necessary to be circumcised in order to be saved. In Galatians, Paul says that this was another gospel (Eph 2:8; Acts 15:13-21; Gal 1:6-8).

  1. “We need to be aware that God bought us at a high price: the blood of Christ. He rescued us and freed us from that empty, futile and meaningless life inherited from our fathers (1 Pet 1:17-19). Therefore, we cannot and should not give up on living an overcoming Christian life” (Phil 3:14) (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 3, Friday, p. 49).
