- What qualifications do we need to restore God’s government? God needs faithful, God-fearing men. The one who governs must be God! The man who represents God’s government must be afraid to put his own hand and his own opinions into God’s administration (Neh. 7:2).
- The word of the Lord establishes His government in our lives, just as the walls that were built by Nehemiah in the desolate city of Jerusalem. If you submit to the word, you will be under the government of God, and now the Lord needs each one to serve in his post, guarding his own house (Nehemiah 7:3; Psalm 119:105).
- To restore the temple with Zerubbabel, one had to be enthusiastic. To participate in rebuilding the walls of the city of Jerusalem with Nehemiah, one had to be enthusiastic. May we offer God our service with excellence and enthusiasm (Ezra 3:10-13; Psa 100:2; Rom 12:11; Heb 6:11).
- “The apostle Paul emphasizes the importance of being one in soul. How can we think the same thing? By enjoying the same word and immersing ourselves in the same word! Even though we are so different in status, education, and culture, immersing ourselves in the word of God makes us one in spirit” (Phil. 2:2) (Daily Food, Book 5, Week 2, Saturday, p. 34, 35).
