- The people of Israel signed an agreement, a covenant of faithfulness to the word of the Lord, which included precepts about offerings for the proper functioning of the house of God. We need to be practical: the money that the Lord gives us is for us to serve in His church. When He returns, our earthly assets will be worth nothing (Neh 9:38; 10:1, 28-29, 32-39; Ps 39:6-7).
- The Lord is the One who gives us the productive land. Therefore, the first fruits of this production must be dedicated to the Lord. We need to give Him our best, our first fruits! In this year of 2025, we need to give everything to the Lord. Today, He wants our excellence in everything! In our offerings, He wants the first fruits; in our service, He wants excellence (Pr 3:9-10).
- We need to be absolute before the Lord. If, at some point in your past, you had any relationship with the “Ammonites” or acted like Lot, today you have the opportunity to position yourself like Ruth: “For wherever you go, I will go, and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God” (Nehemiah 13:4; Ruth 1:16).
- “The death of Christ reopened the way to the tree of life, which had previously been closed to man (Gen. 3:24), because he had chosen the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and had defiled himself with sin and death. But the death of Christ reopened that way, satisfying God’s requirements” (Heb. 10:19-20) (Daily Food, Book 5, Week 3, Saturday, p. 52).
