DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Friday | Mess. 8 – The Blessing of Abraham

  1. Romans 4 reveals a vision of God’s plan in calling Abraham. He believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness. Abraham’s faith was reckoned as righteousness. The true blessing is in believing God’s word with all simplicity, without question (Rom 4:3).

  1. The reality of justification by faith would only come about with the coming of Christ, through His death and resurrection. The law was never God’s original intention. Faith was always His intention. When God created man and gave him the mission to govern the Earth, He gave him the tree of life, symbolizing Christ (Gen. 1:26-28; 2:16-17).

  1. Paul reveals that God has always wanted a people who would believe in His word, just as Abraham believed. However, before the arrival of Christ, the law would serve as a tutor to guard the people and lead them to Him to be justified by faith. Once faith has come, we are no longer subject to the law. The law came for a temporary dispensation (Gal 3:23-25).

  1. “A word without the power and wisdom of God has no effect because mere biblical and theological knowledge does not generate power: ‘My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power’ (1 Cor. 2:4)” (Daily Food, Book 6, Sem. 2, Friday, p. 33).
