1. God created the heavens and the earth, and placed man there. The Lord made everything beautiful in its time. However, without the revelation of God’s word, man does not understand the purpose of all these things. We are not here to live a meaningless life — God is preparing us for His glory (Eccl. 3:11; Rom. 8:17).
2. When man disobeyed God, not only was he affected, but all creation was subjected to the bondage of corruption. Now we are being prepared to become mature children of God. When this happens, we will be glorified, and creation will also be freed from this bondage. Therefore, we are engaged in the fight for the kingdom (Romans 8:17-23).
3. Engage in the fight for the kingdom, so that Christ may head up all things. But we must no longer act based solely on what we know. Our tendency is to seek methods that will make things work. However, we who are born of the Spirit should not worry about the next step, but follow the Spirit’s direction (Eph. 1:10; John 3:8).
4. “When Abraham was called, he believed, and it was counted to him as righteousness. He already belonged, by faith, to the heavenly realm. However, when he helped God beget a son, he and Sarah retreated to the earthly realm… What about you? Do you want to retreat? No! Let us hear the word, believing it with simplicity” (Rom. 4:3; Heb. 10:38-39) (Daily Food, book 2, week 4, Friday, p. 67).
