1. Let us have a heart like that of children and teenagers: simple, obedient, and free from concepts and interests. Even if we are not completely free from ambition for positions or offices, God, through His word, has removed this from our hearts. Therefore, let us cultivate a servant’s heart and follow the example of Jesus, who did nothing for Himself when He was on Earth (Matt. 18:1–3; 20:25–26).
2. We are on Earth to serve, not to be served, recognized, or praised. When the Lord returns, He will reward each person according to what they have done—and that is when we want to receive our reward. Having a servant’s spirit, simple and obedient, is the antidote to Satan’s poison (Matt. 20:20 26).
3. Satan’s intention is to promote rebellion among the nations, leading them to break their connection with God. Thus, they begin to see this connection as shackles from which they must free themselves, desiring to live independently of the Creator (Ps 2:1–3).
4. “We are no longer slaves; we belong to Christ Jesus. Today, in the same way as Abraham, we have been justified by faith in Christ. We believe in the Lord Jesus and we have been justified, because Christ accomplished all the righteousness of God on the cross. We are not fulfilling a contract! The promise that God made to Abraham has been given to us freely” (Rom 3:28; Gal 3:24) (Daily Food, book 3, week 1, Friday, p. 16).
