1. The land prospers and produces when we hear and accept the word of God with faith. Everyone who follows the word and accepts it with faith is making the land prosper, because the word of God is alive and active (1 Thess 2:13; Heb 4:12).
2. The word is a seed that contains life, and it is effective because it causes the land to produce. But how can we make the land produce? Through the word. Often, the land does not prosper because there is a mixture of what is of the spirit and what is of the soul —there may be self-interest or other intentions. Only the word of God is capable of bringing discernment and repentance, so that the land may produce effectively (John 17:17; Mark 4:14-20).
3. The faith that someone received as the good land belongs to them. It is their responsibility to make it bear fruit. Whoever serves the Lord today in God’s rest and works so that Christ may be the Head over all things — through the preaching of the gospel — will be invited to participate as overcomers when the Lord comes in His Kingdom. They will reign with Christ for a thousand years and will be priests. It is worth cultivating the good land we have received today (Revelation 20:6).
4. “True circumcision is not merely a rite, but something performed in the heart: ‘Circumcise therefore your hearts, and do not harden your necks any longer’ (Deuteronomy 10:16)” and “those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its affections and desires (Gal. 5:24)” (Daily Food, Book 3, Week 3, Friday, p. 51).
