1. Jesus is the way that leads us to the Father. When we believe in Him, we enter through Him as the door, confessing Him as Lord and believing that God raised Him from the dead; thus, we receive eternal life. Now that we possess this life, Jesus wants to go a step further: to lead us to where He is. And where is Jesus? He’s in the Father (John 3:16; 14:3, 10-11).
2. When we believed in Jesus, our first experience was with the Spirit. He sealed us. Neither angels, nor people, nor even we can see Him, but there is a seal engraved on our hearts—the Spirit with us always. The Spirit of truth, who is the other Comforter, will dwell with us forever. Therefore, salvation is not lost: the Spirit we have received is eternal (Eph 1:13; John 10:28; 14:16-17).
3. Everything the Father entrusted to the Son is securely guarded. We are safe in the hands of the Son and in the hands of the Father. No one can snatch us from His hands. Whoever enters through this door will never perish, for they are in Christ. It is not because of our merit, but because Christ shed His blood for us. He is the door. If we had not “entered the ark”, we would have died “in the flood.” Thank the Lord, we are saved (John 10:9, 28-29).
4. “Christ will reign over the nations, as promised to Abraham. He will not reign alone, but with those who are brought into the Lord. In the resurrection, God made Christ the firstborn Son, to be the father of many children. We are these children, called to reign with Him. God wants man to share in the inheritance and to rule with Christ” (Heb. 2:7, 10; 2 Tim. 2:12a) (Daily Food, book 1, week 1, Friday, p. 16).
