DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Friday | Msg. 19 – The Rejection of Peter’s Ministry and His New Role

  1. The apostle Paul makes it clear that when he preached to the Corinthians, he did not use his own wisdom or eloquence, so that the cross of Christ would not be made void. Let us not use our talents as a substitute for the power of the Spirit. Let us allow the power of the Spirit to do His work. Let us simply be channels for the Lord to bring salvation (1 Cor 1:17).

  1. In the church, the One who should be seen is the Spirit, the Lord. You and I do not need to have or seek prominence. We do not need to appear. In Colossians we see that the result of the work of the Holy Spirit is this: in the church there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, but Christ is all in all (Col 3:10-11).

  1. Peter had boldness because he received power along with those who were gathered on the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon them. Let us continue on this path! Let us fill ourselves with the Spirit every day! How? By immersing ourselves in the word, listening to it when we sleep, when we wake up, speaking it among ourselves. The word fills us with the Spirit (Eph 5:18-19; Deut 6:6).

  1. The truth of the gospel preached by Paul made it clear that Christ died to free us from slavery to the law and sin, but the Judaizers insisted on defending the effort of the flesh and the practice of the law… Let us stand firm in the truth of the gospel revealed to us, just as Paul did (Acts 15:5; Gal 5:1) (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 1, Friday, pp. 15-16).
