- We all perceive that we are members of the Body of Christ, and we realize what connects us one to another is the circulation of life, which is the fellowship of life. The fellowship of life springs from the word of life, which is eternal life itself. Even though we live far from one another, we are connected by the word (1 Jn 1:1-3).
- The unity, oneness, and harmony among us are not artificial, but are something that life itself is producing. We sense that we are being built up into spiritual house (Eph 2:19-22).
- When we speak concerning the edification of the church, the essence of that edification is love. We feel that we are being immersed in love, that is, connected and joined together. This is the true unity of the Body of Christ. It is not an artificial unity created by men (Col 3:12-14).
- “When we enjoy the word of life, we are brought into the fellowship of life, and the result is love. This love binds us together perfectly, builds up the church, and gives us confidence on the Day of Judgment that we will have done the Lord’s will” (1 Jn 4:17) (Daily Food, Book 3, Week 2, Monday).
