- The apostle Peter shows us the importance of the word of God, because it produces faith in us through hearing the word of Christ. As we allow objective faith to be projected into our hearts, that faith becomes our subjective faith (Rom 10:17).
- As we hear the word of God, we gain more of the divine nature and essence. That is, everything of God will gradually be transferred into our subjective faith, which we initially received when we believed (2 Pet 1:3-4).
- As we develop our faith with virtue, self-control, endurance, godliness, brotherly love, and agape love, which is the love of God, we become active and fruitful in the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. And so, more and more, we will solidify our choosing and election, without stumbling at any time in the Christian walk. In this way, entrance into the eternal kingdom will be amply supplied (2 Pet 1:5-11).
- By dying and rising again, Christ became the Spirit of truth, the other comforter, our Paraclete, who now dwells in our spirits. His function is to anoint us every time we obey the Lord’s word and follow His direction (1 John 2:27) (Daily Food, Book 3, Monday, p. 41).
