- The situation of the church in Thyatira was so bad because it rejected the word of the Lord and His prophets, that is, it rejected the government of God. Be careful! Do not let your heart become hardened to God’s words today (Revelation 2:20-21).
- A miracle occurred when Cyrus decreed that the people return to Jerusalem to rebuild and edify the house of the Lord. Those who went up to build the temple were a minority, but they knew the importance of restoring the temple. Do you want to be part of this minority who were willing to rebuild the temple? (Ezra 1:3; Deuteronomy 12:1-4).
- We are not in the church life to seek our own interests, but we are here to establish God’s dwelling place so that He can rule. God wants to establish His government in the church. We cannot do what seems good in our own eyes (Deuteronomy 12:8).
- “Regarding the Lord’s work, we need to change our mindset and have a clear vision that the church is responsible for carrying forward the Lord’s work on earth. The Lord wants to count on every member of His Body, and it is a privilege for us to be able to participate in the progress of His work” (Phil 4:14-19) (Daily Food, Book 5, Week 1, Monday, p. 5).
