DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Monday | Mess. 8 – The Blessing of Abraham

  1. Paul wrote the Epistle to the Galatians so that they would not stray from the truth of the gospel. In chapter three, the apostle relates the calling of Abraham and the associated events to show that our righteousness is based on faith as we believe in God (Gal. 3:6-8).
  1. The law was given by God to the people through Moses, with the intention that everyone would hear and obey the words of the Lord. However, it is through the sphere of faith that we gain the power and Spirit to live and practice them (John 1:17).
  1. Abraham was prepared by God. At a time when practically all nations were pagan idol worshipers, the God of glory appeared to him. When called, Abraham did not question God, for he had already been prepared by the Lord through the word. In our experience, faith comes through hearing the word of Christ (Gen. 12:1-4; Acts 7:2-5; Rom. 10:17).
  1. “The first chapter of the Second Epistle of Peter begins with the author introducing himself: ‘Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord’” (2 Pet. 1:1-2) (Daily Food, Book 6, Sem. 2, Monday, p. 22).
