- We can draw many principles from the story of Abraham today, in order to help us be those who have a heart to do God’s will and to accomplish His will in this age. The Lord needs last-hour workers who cooperate with the Spirit to accomplish His work (Josh. 24:2-3; Matt. 20:1-16; 24:45-46).
- We learn from Abraham the lesson of knowing the true God. We do not seek the Lord out of personal interest, but simply because He is the God who created us and whom we desire to serve, love, and dedicate our lives to (Isaiah 51:2).
- Abraham’s heart was not set on earthly riches, possessions, or livestock. He only wanted to serve and be useful to the True God (Heb 11:8-10).
- “God’s work is accomplished by His word. Therefore, Peter labored for the present truth to always be among the brethren, that they might be confirmed in it, even after his departure” (2 Pet. 1:12-15) (Daily Food, Book 7, Sem. 2, Monday, p. 21).
