- God’s purpose in creating man was to rule the earth through him. Man was created in His image and likeness, through the breath of the eternal God, who formed the spirit and soul in man. The only part of man that is made of matter, of something physical, is the body. Our bodies were made for us to live on earth and to do God’s will (Gen. 1:26; 2:7; Job 33:4; 1 Thess. 5:23).
- The human heart is formed by the soul (mind, will and emotion) plus a part of the spirit: the conscience, which makes the connection between the human spirit and the soul. The human heart is the place where we can receive God, where the word of God, like a seed, can germinate, fertilize, grow and bear fruit (1 Pet 1:23; Matt 13:23).
- God created man as a vessel to receive Him. It is not necessary for man to be capable or powerful in himself, but to contain The Almighty God, who can perform His mighty work. Power is of God, not of man. We can contain The Almighty God through Christ, who now dwells within us. God in us performs His work (2 Cor 4:7; Gal 2:20).
- “We need to learn this lesson and see the importance of the prophetic word. As long as the church follows the word of God spoken by the apostles, it will prosper. Signs, wonders, and miracles will occur, and the Lord will add to the number of those who are being saved day by day” (Acts 2:42-47) (Daily Food, Book 7, Week 3, Monday, p. 37).
